Alontae Taylor Is a Healthy Scratch vs. Colts; Report Says Titans Fielding Trade Interest

Titans fans, a surprise on the inactive list in Indianapolis.

Cornerback Alontae Taylor is a healthy scratch against the Colts today. Per ESPN's Turron Davenport, it is not injury related; it is a coach's decision. Titan Insider's Terry McCormick noted it comes even though the secondary is thin, and said Joshua Williams, just back from injured reserve, will presumably get the start. The other Titans inactives, per McCormick: Kevin Winston, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, Kyle Granson, Nick Singleton, Jackie Marshall and Jordan Elliott.

Evan Sidery reports the Titans are fielding trade interest in Taylor, who signed a three-year deal with Tennessee in free agency. Sidery says a trade before the deadline appears very likely. That is a report, not a done deal.

Our Take: Sitting a healthy starter months into his new deal is a loud message, and it puts Williams in the spotlight right away against Indy. Watch how the Titans' corners hold up early. We'll update this at halftime and after the final.
