Saleh Calls It a Finishing Problem. He's Right, and the Clock Is Running.

By , TitansCountry ·

Titans fans, you've heard "so close" before. Robert Saleh said it again Monday after the 27-24 loss to Cleveland.

Our Take: Saleh is right that this is a finishing problem. But at some point close stops being a compliment, and the fix has to start on defense.

Saleh said the Titans have a "finishing problem" and pointed to a 1-4 record in one-score games, per the Titans' official site and AP. "It is so close, it is so close," he said, per both.

The offense held up its end. Tony Pollard ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns, per AP and the Titans' official site. The defense didn't. Cleveland piled up 491 yards, per AP and the Titans' official site.

Then there's Alontae Taylor. He was active Sunday and didn't play a snap, and Saleh said the team is working to get him going at nickel, per the Titans' official site and AP. That has to turn into real snaps soon.

What to watch: Taylor's role at nickel this week and whether the tackling gets cleaned up. The Titans keep putting themselves in a spot to win. Now they have to take it.
