Titans Claim DT Jonah Laulu Off Waivers, Waive Timmy Horne to Make Room

By , TitansCountry · · Updated

Titans fans, it's a waiver claim, not a blockbuster. But on a 1-6 team, a young defensive tackle with real starting experience is worth getting a little excited about.

Our Take: This is a smart, low-risk swing. Tennessee needed another body on the interior, and Laulu is a low-risk depth add with starting experience.

According to the Titans' official site, Tennessee was awarded former Raiders defensive tackle Jonah Laulu off waivers on Wednesday and waived defensive tackle Timmy Horne to make room. Team writer Jim Wyatt reports the 6-foot-5, 289-pound Laulu has played 39 games with 22 starts over three seasons in Las Vegas, with 91 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 12 quarterback hits. He was a seventh-round pick of the Colts in 2024 out of Oklahoma, was claimed by the Raiders the day after Indianapolis waived him, and started 15 games for Las Vegas in 2025.

This season was a different story. Laulu played in five games and was a healthy scratch for two others, per the team, and NBC Sports describes him as a depth option for Tennessee.

What to watch: whether Laulu is active Sunday and how many snaps he takes in the interior rotation. On a 1-6 roster, cheap depth claims like this are how you build toward next year.
