Titans vs. Browns Preview: Tennessee Hosts Cleveland at Nissan Stadium (Noon CT, CBS)
The Tennessee Titans (1-5) host the Cleveland Browns (4-2) today at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is 12:00 PM CT on CBS. ESPN's DraftKings line has Cleveland favored by just 1.5, with a total of 36.5.
Our Take: A line that tight says Vegas sees a coin flip, and a home crowd should tip it. The Browns win with defense and a short passing game. If Cam Ward protects the ball and Jeffery Simmons wrecks the pocket, Tennessee can grind out its second win. A total of 36.5 points tells you this one is going to be ugly. That's fine. Ugly wins count.
WHO'S OUT: WR Calvin Ridley (hip) did not practice and is questionable. RB Tyjae Spears (knee), S Tony Adams (ankle), and S Kevin Winston Jr. (quad) are also questionable. LB Dorian Mausi (foot) is OUT; he was downgraded Saturday and placed on injured reserve. Cleveland ruled out DT Mike Hall Jr. (ankle), G Teven Jenkins (back), DT Kalia Davis (quad) and QB Dillon Gabriel (back). Tennessee released DT Jordan Elliott this week.
KEYS TO THE GAME:
1. Ward's ball security. He has 998 passing yards with 4 TDs and 4 INTs, per ESPN. A clean day is the whole ballgame.
2. Feed Carnell Tate. He leads the team with 29 catches for 344 yards, and that matters more if Ridley sits.
3. Get to Deshaun Watson. He has 1,174 yards, 7 TDs and just 2 INTs. Simmons (4 sacks) has to win his matchups.
4. Win the ground game. Tony Pollard (349 yards) against Quinshon Judkins (221 yards) could decide a low-scoring game.
